about
I wrote this song up in Canada while listening to my good friend, Jim Swihart, speak at a conference. At one point he said, "I don't want to be a man of good intentions; I want to be a man of action." I thought it was a great idea, so I started jotting down the lyrics (and ignored the rest of the sermon!).
For the recording, we decided to strip this one down and get a more organic, live kind of feel. I sat down and did one take of the vocals and guitar so we would have a scratch track - but we ended up keeping it for the final mix! Jon Uhland plays the drums on this track.
lyrics
verse 1:
Maybe tomorrow’s gonna be my day
Maybe tomorrow I won’t play it safe
Today is not quite right, I just need a bit more time
Maybe tomorrow I’ll obey
chorus:
I am a man of good intentions
verse 2:
Maybe I need more time to find my way
Maybe I need to find the right words to say
Today is not quite right, I just need a bit more time
Maybe tomorrow I’ll obey
bridge:
You can count on me to drag my feet
You can trust that I will try tomorrow
Maybe tomorrow I won’t be afraid
